Melody Miles Haynes, Esq. is the founder and managing attorney of Haynes Group LLC, an estate planning and asset protection law firm serving individuals and families across Maryland and Washington D.C.
Melody earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakwood University, a Master of Education from Morgan State University, and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Public and Governmental Service from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Before becoming an attorney, Melody began her professional career as a high school English teacher in the Baltimore City Public School System — a foundation that shaped her ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain, accessible language. She then spent nearly two decades as a Criminal Trial Attorney, representing more than 20,000 clients and achieving countless victories before judges and juries.
Her path to estate planning was deeply personal. After losing her father suddenly and helping her family navigate the difficult process of settling his affairs, Melody found her true calling. She now channels that experience into helping individuals and families plan ahead, protect what they've built, and establish a lasting legacy for future generations.
Attorney Haynes is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia. In addition to other federal licenses, she holds the distinguished honor of a license from the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She is also admitted to the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Haynes Group LLC is based in Bowie, Maryland, with meeting spaces available at the National Harbor, throughout Washington D.C., Upper Marlboro, and across the DMV — making it easy for clients to meet in a location that works for them.
When she is not working, Melody enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two rottweilers at their home in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She also enjoys good food, traveling, supporting the arts, and serving at her church.
